My name is Alex Zapata, a USCG licensed and insured Captain. I guide fisherman on the beautiful flats of Biscayne Bay, the Everglades and the Florida Keys. I have been fishing the waters of South Florida and the Keys for over 15 years. My goal is to show you a great time on the water. I’m a laid back and patient guide who will work very hard to make your day on the water a success.

Extremely stable, spacious yet light and versatile, It allows me to make long and fast runs into the backcountry while keeping my clients dry and comfortable. The maverick HPX-V is dead quiet, nimble on the push pole and floats in 8″ of water. It is an awesome fishing machine to sightfish for bonefish, tarpon, permit, redfish, and snook on the flats.

Pathfinder 2200 tournament edition
The pathfinder 2200 tournament edition bay boat, equipped with a Yamaha 250 four stroke is my boat of choice for a wide variety of fishing options and family trips. This vessel comfortably fishes up to 4 fisherman and really opens up a whole spectrum of fishing opportunities. Equipped with a Minnkota trolling motor and a power pole, from shallow water flats, to open bays, the gulf, the reef, snorkeling, lobstering, freshwater canals, bridges, the sand bar and even offshore during good weather days, My pathfinder bay boat can really do it all.
I only fish high quality fishing tackle. My fly rods are made by Winston and Hardy. Fly reels are Tibor and Abel reels. My spinning gear is made by TFO, Penn and Shimano. I also custom tie my own flies.
