Miami Flyfishing tours

The best time of the year for fishing in Biscayne Bay and the keys is here! We are in full summer time mode, which consists of calm mornings and early starts at dawn looking for rolling tarpon, floating permit and/or tailing bones.

The calm weather normally lasts until the afternoon, before the usual thunderstorms start to develop inland, due east towards the bay and chase us off the water. Once the storms passes by, the calm weather returns and you can get into some of the most epic permit and bonefish action.

Baby tarpon fishing has been consistent, mainly in the early morning hours for rolling fish. Shrimp hatches are also common this time of the year, drawing lots of fish to feed on the struggling shrimp under patches of grass and sea weed.

Along with baby tarpon, good numbers of small to mid size bonefish have been around. The water gets very hot this time of the year so bonefishing in the shallows is better early and late. Permit are less sensible to heat and like to feed consistently through the day.
